Privileges
• Five circulation books may be borrowed by undergraduate students and 10 circulation books by graduate students.
• Circulation books may be borrowed for one week during the semester. These are renewable twice - on the due date.
• Two reserve books per subject may be borrowed overnight
• Ten circulation books may be borrowed by the faculty for one month. Faculty may also borrow serials (except current issue) for one week. Said materials are renewable only once - on the due date.
The University Library
Circulation Section (Book Borrowing)
Circulation Service is a unit to serve the visitor in ordering, borrowing, and returning books including the administration matter. Circulation service is only for enrolled students of salaried staff by Bogor Agricultural University who have been secured the Library Cards. There are 2 (two) types of borrowing, the first is 1 (one) week borrowing for several textbooks and the second is 3 (three) days borrowing for several textbooks. This service unit is located on the 1st floor. Reference books, scripts, theses, and dissertations are available on the 2nd floor.
Digital Service
Users who need information of digital format such as journals, scripts, theses, dissertations, IPBana, research reports, and another library collections may utilizes this service, which is available on the 1st floor. This Service opens Monday to Friday at 08.00 – 21.00 and on Saturday at 08.00 – 16.00. The available digital format in the University Library are as follows: :
1. Foreign scientific journal in CD-ROM format from TEEAL (The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library) which consists of full text scientific articles.
2. Online Database: Proquest, Science Direct, Ebsco, Infotrac and Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital).
3. Collection of scripts, theses, dissertations, and the IPB staff’s scientific articles in digital format.
4. Information packet of Efficient Technology in CD format.
Digital Service also provides the internet access to visitor who needs it.
Reference Section (Information Searching)
This section provides academic community and others who need the information of social, applied technology and science, including the agriculture, animal science, fishery, forestry, and agricultural technology. ). The information could be in digital format, print out or photocopy; and will be sent via delivery service or e-mail.
Library Orientation Sessions
• A one hour session for the new intake of students. The session is conducted at the beginning of the first semester of all new intake. The topics includes a brief introduction on the collections, services and facilities available, followed by library guided tour and an exhibition.
• A one hour hands-on session on the use of the OPAC.
Users Education
This program is intended for academic community to improve their knowledgte in information searching (information skills), especially the new comers and the students at final semester. Students who want to join the program should form a group who are consisted of 5-10 people and set the time. Then, the group must register to the Reference Service Section at least 1 day before the date of training will be held. Duration of the training is 60 minutes/group on workdays (Monday to Friday) at 09.00 – 14.00.
Self Access Center (SAC)
SAC is an independent study service especially for the TPB students and the undergradute students from Departments of Agronomy and Horticulture, Nutrition Science, Agricultural Technology, and Nutrition and Feed Technology. The SAC is open Monday to Saturday at 08.00 – 16.00 on the 1st floor of the IPB Library building. The available collections are: (1) English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Mathematic Books; (2) cassettes; and (3) CD-ROM.
Training and Apprenticeship
Training and apprenticeship are offered for students and librarians interested to improve their professional performance or knowledge, especially on library management, library information system and archiving. Request to undertake such training programs or apprenticeship may be submitted to the IPB Library via mail or e-mail (

How to Connect to WiFi?
Step 1 Click on the network connection icon in the system tray.
For Windows Vista users, choose CONNECT to a network.
For Windows XP users, choose VIEW available wireless network
Step 2 Choose GenRef 1 or GenRef 2 wireless networks.
Then, click CONNECT (perform only when your notebook does not automatically detect the network).
For MAC OS users, CREATE a network name GenRef.
Fill in HTTP proxy box: proxy.iopb.ac.id port: 8080
Step 3 Depending on your web browser, CONFIGURE proxy connection settings by:
3.1 Uncheck all LAN setting and auto detect proxy settings
3.2 Check manual proxy configuration and fill in HTTP proxy: ipb.ac.id port: 8080
